Shopping My friend is being so brave. She has left her husband because he has not been treating her well. It took her a long time to make the decision to do so because she was worried about how it would be for her having to manage on her own, support herself on her small income and just be alone. But she decided in the end that it would be much better to have to cope alone than put up with him. She therefore walked out with nothing at all and has managed to find a new flat that she can afford to rent and all of her friends have been rallying round trying to find her bits of furniture. I gave her my metal bar stools which will be useful at her kitchen breakfast bar and as she has no other chairs will be useful. I have also bought her a big poster and poster frame to hang on the wall with a picture of a lovely beach which should hopefully help her to relax. Another friend has managed to give her a bed, which is great and someone else is helping out with cooking things. She has bought herself a few plates and some cutlery and so she has enough to manage with. Hopefully we will be able to find more things for her and she will soon have a nice home.

arts I have been looking for some nice poems on line and have found a site that does personalized name poems. These are fantastic as you can write it in card and it will be perfectly suited to the person that you are giving it to. I love poetry but am no good at writing it myself and so this is a good way of being able to give them something special. I tried it once before when I wanted to say thank you to a really special teacher that my children had at school. I got a selection of teacher appreciation poems and got them to write one out and draw around it and I think that she really appreciated the effort that we had all been to. It certainly made me think about doing it for more people and so I am going to see whether others like having poems, maybe in birthday cards and decide whether to keep going with the idea. I am sure that a few people will not be so, keen as others but it is nice to be able to give it a go and find out who likes it. Those that comment and say that they like the idea may get more poems and those that say nothing, may not get one again.
