Shopping I have not bought myself any new jewellery for ages and so because my birthday is coming up soon, I have decided to celebrate and get something special. I have been looking at what new things are around and I have noticed a heart key necklace seems to be the main feature of every jewellery shop window. I can see why it would be a nice gift for a man to his wife, partner or lover but for myself I am not really looking for this sort of thing. I have seen some nice key pendants too but I think of them for 21st birthday presents and I a bit older than that! I think that I might just get a few nice chains to go with some of the pendants that I have already and then maybe get myself some nice new gold hoop earrings. I know that they are not that modern but they are still fashionable and they suit me and my hairstyle and I feel great wearing them and I have even seen some young girls wearing them too. They will also go well with some of my more fancy gold pendants as they are pretty plain.

Shopping I sometimes wonder whether toy kitchens are good or not. I would much rather let my children help me in the real kitchen so they learn how to prepare real food rather than plastic stuff. However, I see them playing with the toy kitchen at school, putting things in the oven, pretending to chop things, cook things and make cups of tea and I realise that they cannot do any of those things at home as they are too young. They might be learning a lot more by pretending to do those things which they are not allowed to do at home. Perhaps I should see how much a kidcraft kitchen is and then decide whether it will be worth - while. If it is not too expensive then it might be well worth getting them one so that they can have a lot of fun with it and learn from it as well. Perhaps when they are old enough to use the real one they might not even need any teaching - they might just turn out to be the best chefs ever! I am sure that will not happen but if it gives them lots of fun then it could be worth it.

Shopping My son made me laugh this morning. He is only four years old and he has said that he wanted a strawberry cake at Christmas. I was telling him that I could make a sponge cake with strawberry jam, cream and strawberries on top. He then said that it had to have birthday candles on the top. I had to explain that we do not have candles on cakes at Christmas and he asked me why. This really made me thing, because I like to be honest with my children and answer all of their questions as well as I can but I could not think of a suitable answer. I tried to explain that we have as many candles as our age on our birthday and blow them out but then he said that n my birthday I just had one candle and lots of birthday cake toppers! They do not miss a trick do they!! I think that we may end up having candles on our Christmas strawberry cake because I cannot think of a hood reason why not. It will certainly make a change and if it makes it a memorable Christmas then I see no harm in it at all.
